This week’s WBTA Pet of the Week is Ming, an 11-year-old domestic shorthair owned by Tina Adams. Named after the little patch of black fur on his chin, Ming’s name was inspired by Ming the Merciless. Tina’s daughter picked him out at Petco 11 years ago, and he’s been a beloved member of the family ever since.

Although Ming has always been a bit of a scaredy-cat, he loves chasing an old shoelace, relaxing in his new kitty house, and making sure everyone knows he’s awake with his morning conversations. He sticks to a low-fat dry food diet to keep his weight in check but still enjoys kitty treats and the occasional tiny piece of American cheese. After losing his best friends—family dog Sergeant and fellow cat Vixie—Ming has embraced his role as the king of the castle. His lovable personality and playful spirit make him this week’s WBTA Pet of the Week.
