This week’s WBTA Pet of the Week is Tilly, a domestic shorthair cat who was adopted from the local shelter here in Genesee County. While the shelter called her Sweetie, her owner thought she looked more like a Matilda. Then her dad started calling her Tilly — and the name stuck.

Tilly’s favorite place to relax is the bathroom sink. If she can’t be found, there’s a good chance she’s curled up there taking a nap. She also loves drinking water straight from a running faucet and has an unusual favorite toy: a simple drinking straw. When it’s time to sleep, Tilly insists on staying close to her owner, moving right along no matter how many times they change positions.

While she tolerates other cats and dogs, Tilly is more of an independent spirit who prefers to do her own thing. When it comes to food, she has expensive tastes. Her favorite is Made by Nacho, the cat food brand from Bobby Flay, especially when it’s topped with the bone broth she absolutely loves. As her owner puts it, “Nothing but the bougie best for my girl!”

Tilly is a beloved companion whose quirky habits, affectionate nature, and sink-loving personality make her one-of-a-kind.
